Toy Industries of Europe (TIE) was founded in 1991 to represent the interests of its members to EU policymakers in Brussels and further afield. Toyindustries provide information for stakeholders, members and policymakers and provide a neutral platform for discussion and exchange. Toyindustries' main focus is ensuring that toys are safe for children, but TIE also work on issues including responsible communications, ethical manufacturing, environmental sustainability, intellectual property rights and trade and promote the value of play and the importance of toys in helping children develop and grow.
Toyindustries' mission is to promote the right of every child to play safely and securely and to promote fair practices and fair legislation, allowing responsible toy companies to continue to grow.
Toyindustries' work is centred around six values which its members are fully committed to:
Prioritising the safety of the toys we produce;
Ethical manufacturing;
Tailoring our marketing to respect children’s sensitivities and advertising responsibly;
Reducing or eliminating barriers to trade;
Respecting intellectual property rights in their broadest sense;
Encouraging environmental sustainability.
